Position Summary: Texas Family Clinic is an Internal Medicine and Pediatric outpatient clinic looking for an experienced, self-motivated Certified Medical Assistant with a professional and positive attitude. This is a dual role that rotates between front desk and back office (clinical) duties. In this position, you will work under the direct supervision of a Physician to coordinate patient care. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Back Office / Clinical
- Room patients and take vitals
- Administer vaccines
- Perform EKGs
- Accurately document clinical messages
- Assist with referrals and prior authorizations
Front Desk
- Answer calls in a timely manner
- Schedule, cancel, and confirm office visits
- Greet patients/families, register/check-in/check-out patients, verify and update necessary information
- Verify and check insurance eligibility
- Perform receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing
General
- Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work well under pressure
- Multitask and move between front desk and clinical duties as scheduled
Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
- At least one year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Demonstrates resourcefulness, independent thinking, and seeks additional challenges and opportunities on their own
- Clear communicator
- Must have excellent customer care skills
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to multi-task
- Dependable

Preferred Skills
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- EPIC experience a huge plus
Work Hours
- Monday through Thursday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- One Saturday per month required 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Two references from prior supervisors are required for application.
Compensation: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
